Campsite Equipment Checklist

A lot of us do love camping. As the summer season is fast approaching, we want a piece of the outdoor. We need social distance from one stranger to another as the situation needs. Having your own camping gear and equipment is a great idea. Borrowing one's equipment is highly discourage right now.

What exactly is camping? According to Britannica, it is a recreational activity in which participants take temporary residence in the outdoors.

For me, it is spending life with nature for a while. How about you? How do you define camping?

Aside from the summer, we are all looking forward to the holy week where we all have our four-day long weekend, while a week-long for others.

What plans do you have for this year's longest weekend?

While you are planning that, you may want to check out some gears and equipment that will make your vacation comfortable.

Here is the first list of camping essentials. You can tick the box of the item that you already have to see which one you miss.

Basic essentials for the shelter:

tent  Tents have 5 parts, the body, which is the main part of the tent; the flysheet, a cover for the wind, and cold; the groundsheet, which will protect you from the ground; poles that will make your tent stand and lastly the pegs or stakes, which will keep your tent at the place.

tarp to give you some shade while cooking or simply enjoying the place.

 

 extra groundsheet for your stuff, cooking, and if you simply want a picnic type of dining.
 extra stakes as most of the time, some are misplaced while others break.
sleeping bag

 sleeping pad, Earth pad, or rubber sheets cut in a rectangle which we used during my college days to save on cash but have a sturdy bed to lie on after a long trek.

camping pillow
flashlight or headlamp to keep your hands free from holding up your light source. 

Optional gears and equipment for your shelter:

lantern is also a good alternative source of light on camp.
battery or fuel for a lantern which depends on which type of lantern do you have. 
camping chair
camping table
hammock
tent set up kit
clothesline

 stove, you can choose a compact stove with a detachable fuel tank, or like the one in the photo which is a 2-burner propane stove. If camping in a car you may consider Camp Chef Explorer Double Burner Stove.

 fuel for the stove
 match/fire starter
 cook pots and pans

 eating utensils like fork, spoon, plate, drinking cup, or mug.

 cook wear 

 bottle and can opener I used to have a 4 in 1 camping utensil set which has a knife, spoon, fork, and can opener.
 sharp knife

 

 cutting board
 egg holder 

 

 ice or ice substitute

 

 water bottle, there are a lot of choices for a water bottle. My personal favorite is the Nalgene brand, particularly their Oasis Water Bottle.

 

 biodegradable dish soap
 dish sponges
 trash bags 
 dish towel

 

 camp grill, portable and compact grill for the outdoors.

 

 griddle
 roasting forks
 small food containers

 

 large water jugs or large folding water basins.

 cooler, you can have a party stacker for camping with a vehicle while a collapsible insulated bag is a good choice for hiking.

 large clear plastic bag, best for waterproofing

 dutch oven

 multi-tool
 camping shovel
 extra cord
 tent poles repair kit
 mallet or hammer
 saw or ax
 small broom and dustpan
 solar and portable power
 binoculars

 navigation tools
 field guides
 pen and paper
 pocketbook
 portable speaker
 music player
 star chart or night sky identifier

The stuff on the campsite checklist will make ar break your night's sleep while the items on the kitchen list will provide your meals the satisfaction you deserve.
