How Much Does a Zipline Cost?

How does a zipline cost?

Say you don't have an anchoring building or structure, so you need to build one or two.

One full metal structure from bottom-up costs around a 3M PHP for 5 floors. It is a very rough estimate, but definitely, it will not cost less than that. Then you have the cable wire, pulleys, harness, carabiners, and other equipment needed for the whole adrenaline, adventure, experience that you want to monetize at some point, not to mention the manpower and logistics. The total would cost you at least PHP 5M for a whole 200 to 500 meters zipline. You still need to ask a contractor for the exact estimate.

What exactly do we need when building a zipline?

  1. Location. One point to consider is the view. Imagine riding one, and the view is spectacular, yet the speed is fast enough to achieve the excitement. One would go back.
  2. Anchors. You may choose from a tree or a structure. It will depend on the height of your zipline. Then the anchor height, cable tension, sag, and slope should be considered. It ain't that complex to know these for a technically inclined person, but a professional is highly recommended to compute these factors.
  3. Zipline parts. It includes cable wire; The galvanized cable is recommended as it is less resilient to rust and other weather elements. Cable clamps, turnbuckles, cable sling, and thimble are few more parts that comprise the zipline.
  4. Good choice of equipment and parts. You should have a harness, trolley or pulley, and braking system. Make sure to choose all the equipment that went through quality control.
  5. Safety. There are a lot of factors to consider in building a zipline or a theme park. Experience and highly professional workers should be one of the considerations. On top of that is, of course, value for money. Always remember that not all zip lines are equal. They are unique in each way.

Final note: Always do a safety test and inspection before you start riding. Monthly maintenance is required and should you see any sign of rust or fraying, the cable should be replaced immediately. Secure all equipment and instruct your riders on the dos and don'ts of riding.
