As we all move to the new normal. Secretary Puyat announces the guidelines for a staycation in places under the General Community Quarantine.

The Department of Tourism issued guidelines for "staycation" for all ages except for those with a medical condition. 

Staycation in the Philippines applies to provinces under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ)

The Inter-Agency Task Force permits "staycation" or an overnight stay for leisure purposes for places under GCQ.

Each guest has required a rapid antigen test conducted on the same day of check-in. Each staycation guests should have a negative result. 

Accommodation establishments in GCQ areas must secure a DOT Certificate of Authority to Operate for Staycation prior to accommodating guests. In addition to this, "staycation" establishments should follow guidelines handling. The maximum number of guests per room, health, and safety protocols for ancillary establishments all must be observed as well. Gym, swimming pool, restaurant, and other food and beverage outlets resume operation except for bars under GCQ areas.

Strict monitoring of these establishments will take place as they must submit a record of occupancy every 10th of the month. Likewise, staycation packages for the present market demands and conditions are required that adhere to strictly comply with the health and safety guidelines of the present situation. 

Cashless transactions for bookings and payments are mandatory to promote minimal physical contact. 

All establishments for staycation should also follow the existing policies issued by other sectors.

Staycation establishments that will violate any of the policies are subject to fines and fees. Revocation of the Department of Tourism accreditation.

“Nothing beats restarting the tourism economy. We need to bring back jobs but with health and safety as a priority,” Secretary Puyat said.
