Today it boasts tourist spots that rested for the past seven months. On October 15, 2020, the Department of Tourism will re-open the province to tourists.

The Department of Tourism issued certificates of the authority of 208 hotels and resorts in Ilocos Norte ready to accommodate guests. These establishments will be regularly checked for compliance with health and safety standards as Sec. Puyat explained.

Keep in mind that to travel, a Negative RT-PCR test result is a must within 72-hours before entry to the province. Everyone must also abide by the rule that a face shield and mask must be worn at all times in public areas. Physical distance is also required.

Here are five hotels and resorts that you can check to book your travel in the province.

Fort Ilocandia Hotel, located in Laoag City, offers grandeur and 290 rooms a scenic view of the resort gardens or the swimming pool

Each reservation includes the following:
  • Single or Double Occupancy
  • 2 Buffet Breakfast
  • Free Wi-Fi Access
  • Airport-Hotel-Airport Transfers
  • Free Use of Beach Huts

Some other resorts are:
Each hotel and resort is required to comply with the DOT, IATF, and LGU's policies and protocols, otherwise, they will pay a fee and will lose the license to operate. Aside from that each of them implements sanitation procedures as imposed by the said departments.

On a personal note, subjectively, I should say that as long as you have the budget to travel, which includes the fees to the test, then go and help the tourism industry as you enjoy your trip. You deserve it but bear in mind that we are still in a battle with this pandemic. Don't let your guards down.

Should you decide to take this route, register online on Ilocos Norte website www.ilocosnorte.ph as a tourist.
